DR. SHANNON R. INGRAM, LGPC 

 Leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion with a strong commitment to academic and civic responsibility is at the core of her work as an educator, strategist, and counselor for over 15+ years. National Board-Certified Counselor and former assistant professor is currently the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) where she is the institutional strategist for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

A graduate of the Virginia Community College System’s Faculty & Administrative Leadership Academy, and alumni of the American Council on Education’s Virginia Network for Women in Higher Education, her leadership lens has expanded to embrace the development of others as leaders. In 2012, Shannon successfully launched an employee peer coaching/leadership program, L.E.A.D.S. (Leadership, Education, Advocacy, Development & Service) whose goals included giving back to the community, building relationships among diverse professionals, and creating opportunities for leadership development.

Shannon frequently consults with business leaders and HR administrators to integrate DEI strategies into the organization and measure the effectiveness of their DEI programs. Shannon holds a personal passion for educating others in diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

​

As a first-generation youth from Philadelphia, she embraces each opportunity to give back to others in her community. She is affiliated with the American Counseling Association (ACA), AICAD BiPOC Leadership Institute, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Greater Washington Urban League, National Council for Negro Women, National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Ed and National Board of Certified Counselors. She is an agile & tenacious leader with a skill to build positive effective coalitions. Shannon is committed to reshaping landscapes while galvanizing dialogues that empower.
